Most awards require payment of an additional loading to casual staff (you should check the actual award).
SmoothPay automatically implements casual loading (usually 25% of OTE), however some employers pay inclusive pay rates, or the award doesn't provide for a casual loading.
In these cases you can tell SmoothPay to ignore Casual Loading rules as follows:
- Contract..Employment
- Tick the "Casual staff pay rates include loading" option (make sure their payrate is at least the award provision PLUS the loading percentage
If your employee already has Casual Loading added to their current and/or Template pay then remove the entry and re-save as their Template (otherwise it'll keep popping up each pay period).
